2024 ELECTION CONSECRATION

10 Days to Fast & Pray for our nation and the Election

 

Welcome to 10 Days of Fasting & Prayer for our Nation and the upcoming Election. We are encouraging you to join us in praying for our country during this crucial time. No matter who you are supporting, we can all agree on the fact that prayer is needed, as we head to the voting booth and as we transition to a new Administration.

 

How long is the consecration?

10 Days.  We will begin Saturday, October 26, 2024 and conclude Monday, November 4, 2024.

 

What about medications?

Please continue to take all medications as prescribed.  It is vitally important that you do not stop taking your medications. 

 

May I take vitamins and sports drinks (protein drinks)?

Yes, you may take a good multivitamin and a meal substitution drink.  We discourage sports drinks due to the high sugar and sodium contents.

 

What is the key to a successful consecration or fast?

Prayer and study of the Scriptures.  You are encouraged to spend time in private devotion (Prayer and Bible reading). See the attached scripture readings.  You may also want to share in a time of corporate prayer with your spouse, family members or other believers. 

 

What are the dietary restrictions being observed?

 

ONE MEAL PER DAY!!!

 

What’s for Dessert?

Fruit!         

 

What May I Drink?

  • PLEASE DRINK PLENTY OF WATER flavored with lemon or lime. This serves as an excellent cleanser.
  • An herbal tea (hot or cold) with lemon and a small amount of honey
  • Healthy Teas Suggestions:
    • Oolong: activates enzymes that cut down triglycerides, a type of fat found in the blood...
    • Black/Green/White
    • Chamomile
    • Echinacea
    • Lemon
    • Ginger
    • Dandelion
    • Turmeric
    • Mint
  • Non-Dairy Milks (i.e., Almond, Coconut, Soy, Cashew, etc.)
  • Fresh Pressed Fruit or Vegetable Juice

 

What About Exercise?

Light Exercise is suggested to incorporate into your consecration or fast. Please see your doctor, and have them advise you before the fast.

 

What about Marital Intimacy During Times of Consecration?

According to 1 Corinthians 7:5, those that are married should limit physical intimacy.  However, this does not mean abstain from emotional intimacy that is expressed in various appropriate ways (daily).  After the season of consecration, Paul states that the married couple should resume their physical intimacy.

 

What about Unmarried or Pre-Marital Physical Intimacy?

If this question is being considered, stop the activity and schedule an appointment with the Pastor.

 

What are the Corporate Prayer Days and Times?

  • ** SPECIAL WOFC PRAYER SHUT-IN: Friday, November 1 at 9:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. (officially). The church will be available until 5:00 a.m. for those who desire to pray longer.
  • Morning Prayer: Sundays at 8:30 a.m.; Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 5:00 a.m.
  • Noon Prayer: Tuesdays at 12:00 p.m.
  • Evening Prayer: Fridays at 7:30 p.m.
  • Please ask God to give you a Prayer Partner or someone to be accountable to.

 

October 26: Day 1 – November 4: Day 10: Confess to Sins of our Nation 

 

Scripture:  Nehemiah 1:5-7

5 And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of Heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love Him and observe His commandments:

6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before Thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against Thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.

7 We have dealt very corruptly against Thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which Thou commanded Thy servant Moses.

 

SOME SINS OF AMERICA:

  1. AMERICA HAS FORSAKEN THE ALMIGHTY GOD.
  2. SHE HAS COMMITTED IDOLATRY BY EXALTING, SERVING AND WORSHIPPING PEOPLE, MONEY AND OTHER THINGS BEFORE GOD.
  3. AMERICA HAS COMMITTED SPIRITUAL ADULTERY WITH FALSE RELIGIONS, WITCHCRAFT, OCCULTS, ETC...
  4. AMERICA HAS ABANDONED, FORSAKEN AND BLASPHEMED THE WORD OF THE LIVING GOD.
  5. AMERICA HAS ROBBED, OPPRESSED, EXPLOITED AND KILLED NATIONS, AS WELL AS HER OWN PEOPLE.
  6. HER GOVERNMENT AND BUSINESSES HAVE OPERATED IN DECEIT, CORRUPTION AND EXPLOITATION.
  7. BECAUSE OF GREED, AMERICA HAS POLLUTED GOD’S EARTH, HIS LAND, HIS WATER, HIS AIR, HIS ANIMALS AND HIS PLANTS.
  8. AMERICA, BEING LED BY A MURDEROUS SPIRIT, OPERATING MERCILOUSLY, HAS KILLED BABIES, ABUSED THE POOR, THE ELDERLY AND THE NEEDY.
  9. AMERICA HAS, IN PERSISTANT PURSUIT, ACCEPTED AND PROMOTED SEXUAL AND EVERY IMMORAL PERVERSION.
  10. SHE HAS PLAYED GOD AND PRACTICED GENOCIDE ON RACES SHE HAS CONSIDERED INFERIOR, BY DISMANTLING THE FAMILY, BY VIOLENCE, BY ALCOHOLISM, BY DRUGS AND BY CREATING FINANCIAL INEQUALITY. BY HER OWN DOING, SHE HAS FILLED THE JUVENILE DETENTION CENTERS AND PRISONS, BY CREATING A DYSFUNCTIONAL EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM.

 

October 26: Day 1- October 27: Day 2: Turn from Sin

 

Scripture: 2 Chronicles 7:14

“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

 

Prayer Focus: Candidates and voters would humble themselves and seek the Lord and have a servant’s heart. That revival would sweep across our nation.

 

Actions Steps:

  1. Find a quiet place to spend time with the Lord. Take your Bible and a journal.

 

  1. Pray for revival to start in your own heart. Ask the Lord to show you any habits, actions, thoughts, words, attitudes, etc. that need to change in you so that you are ready for revival.

 

  1. Journal about what you feel God is showing you.

 

  1. Once you feel your own heart is set, move to praying for your family, neighborhood, city, state, and nation. Choose a scripture that you can pray specifically for our nation and use that throughout the week.

 

 

 

October 28: Day 3 – October 29: Day 4: Turn to God

 

Scripture: Matthew 6:9-13

“Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10.Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. 11. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 12. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. 13. For Yours is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever and ever Amen.”

 

Prayer Focus: That our purposes and plans as a Nation would align with God’s.

 

Action Steps:

  1. Make a plan to pray for the elections several times throughout the day. If needed, set the alarm on your phone to remind you to pray.

 

  1. Pray the people in your neighborhood, will seek God’s will in this election. Ask another to join you in prayer.

 

  1. Take a prayer walk and pray for the elections and issues in your own city.

 

  1. Get out a map or look up a map on Google and pray across the states in our great land. Ask God to raise up Christians who will pray and exercise their right to vote.

 

October 30: Day 5 – October 31: Day 6: Turn to Wisdom

 

Scripture:  Proverbs 18:15  

“An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.”

 

Prayer Focus: That voters would seek the Lord’s wisdom as they cast their ballots and vote on initiatives.

 

Action Steps:

  • If you haven’t done so yet, it is time to become educated about the issues of this election on every level. Please do your own research on the political party for 2024. If you go to your state’s .gov site, you will be able to download a copy of the ballot to see all the candidates you will be voting on, plus any initiatives you may be voting on.

 

  • After you have completed your research, make a list of whom you plan to vote for and for the proposals in your community.

 

  • Research the location of your polling place and check the hours.

 

  • Help elderly neighbors and relatives by offering them a ride to their polling place.

 

November 1: Day 7 – November 2: Day 8: Turn Your Eyes

 

Scripture:  Acts 28:25-27

“And when they did not agree with one another, they began leaving after Paul had spoken one parting word, The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers, saying, ‘GO TO THIS PEOPLE AND SAY, YOU WILL KEEP ON HEARING, BUT WILL NOT UNDERSTAND; AND YOU WILL KEEP ON SEEING, BUT WILL NOT PERCEIVE; FOR THE HEART OF THIS PEOPLE HAS BECOME DULL, AND WITH THEIR EARS THEY SCARCELY HEAR, AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES; OTHERWISE THEY MIGHT SEE WITH THEIR EYES, AND HEAR WITH THEIR EARS, AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART AND RETURN, AND I WOULD HEAL THEM.”

 

Prayer Focus: For this to be a peaceful, non-violent election and transition to the new Administration.

 

Action Steps:

The time to act is now. The destiny of our Nation hangs in the balance. I have heard several people say they plan not to vote in this election. This attitude is defeatist and irresponsible. It is time for the Church to wake up and take our place in the shaping of our culture before we lose the right to do so. Remember, when we cast our vote for a candidate we not only vote for the individual, but for the cabinet members they will bring on board.

 

Spend some time interceding for peace and against violent protests or riots, especially the evening of the election.

 

Watch the news for any “hotspots” of where violence is occuring, whether it’s due to the election or other reasons. Cover these geographic areas in prayer.

 

Pray and ask the Lord if there is any specific geographic region He wants you to cover in prayer over the next few months until the new President takes office. Record any direction in your journal so that you remember to make it a prayer priority.

 

November 3: Day 9 – November 4: Day 10: Turn Your Heart

 

Scripture: “He changes times and seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.” Daniel 2:21

 

Prayer Focus: For our Country to be unified and for Congress to work together for the good of the people. That God-Honoring laws and legislations would be enacted.

 

Action Steps:

 

  • The last few elections have been the most rancorous, divisive elections ever. We have witnessed family and other relationships destroyed due to political beliefs. This should not be happening. Pray for civil discourse in our Country and the ability to agree, to disagree without friendships and family relationships suffering for it.

 

  • Decide to pray for our Government officials at all levels. They need God’s wisdom. They need honesty. They need pure motives. And they need servants’ hearts.

 

  • Become informed about local, state, and federal legislation. What decisions is your school board making about curriculum and other important issues such as transgender issues and bathroom/locker room/overnight arrangements for students? Many of us may think that Roe v. Wade is beyond changing, but God can do anything. Ask God if you need to get involved in working to change this law. Perhaps you have never been involved in politics before, but it’s important to let your voice be heard on policies and laws. Call and/or email those in charge your local, state, and federal officials. We can’t afford to ignore these issues any longer.

 

  • We thank you so much for joining us as we pray for the election and our Country. We know that your Intercession is a fragrant offering to God, and we know that your prayers will “availeth much.”
